An associate’s degree in video production will give students the practical experience needed to fill entry level positions within the field. A bachelor’s degree in video production is a four year program that blends general education courses with hands on experiences in the art of filmmaking and video production. Coursework may include American and foreign film history , graphic design, film and computer animation, photography, mass communications, programming, video presentation, news production, documentary production, Internet production, and film editing. Students will also become familiar with the technology used within the field. Graduates of this program will walk away with extensive knowledge of the film and video industry, strong computer skills, and solid business principles.
Job Opportunities for Video Production Degree Holders
Graduates of a video production degree program may find jobs as motion picture camera operators, television production assistants, producers, video editors, or visual effects artists. Job opportunities might also include news producer, program director, and marketing director. TV stations, film production companies, cable companies, and others companies in this industry will be very interested in hiring new graduates of a video production degree program.
